"For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." - 1 John 5:4

"I write for those trapped in abuse—physical, emotional, sexual, or spiritual—who feel powerless, ashamed, and beyond hope.  You are not alone. You are not beyond God’s reach. You are loved. You were created to experience fullness, joy, and freedom. You bear God’s image, and nothing—no abuse, no suffering—can take that away from you. Healing isn't easy, but it’s possible. My story aims to offer hope, echoing Father Damien’s work on Molokai. God’s invitation to His love and grace never closes.  He can restore what has been broken and bring beauty out of ashes.
This is my testimony: finding hope in the darkest seasons, embracing forgiveness I once thought impossible, and seeking my true identity amidst suffering and confusion. May this book lead you towards light, hope, the One who restores."

What the Readers Say about it...

Juliette Howe,
A counsellor supporting Abuse survivors, UK

“‘Finding My Voice: Trapped in Silence’ invites the reader into a powerful, deeply personal journey of finding God. From a childhood marked by trauma and darkness, Eunlim’s story reveals her discovery of faith, revelation, and God’s unwavering love — her river of life that has brought her here. A truly humbling and hope-filled testimony for all navigating towards the light and a relationship with God.”

Albert Gunter,
former minister in the AOG church in Harlow, UK

“I first met Eunlim over twenty-three years ago, yet reading her autobiography opened my eyes to parts of her story I had never imagined. Written with grace, honesty, and a rare gift for storytelling, it draws you in so deeply you may find yourself reading it in one sitting — tissues close at hand. Her journey from a non-Christian home in a war-torn nation to faith and freedom is both unforgettable and life-changing.”

Pastor David Olson,
Senior Pastor, Heartland Church, Iowa, USA

“A heart-wrenching story of pain and abuse becomes a beautiful testimony of redemption, where the love of God delivers and restores one of His broken children. The author is truly a trophy of grace. Read her story and witness a modern-day miracle in her healing.”

Dr. Richard Harvey, author of 'Mapping Messianic Jewish Theology'

"Eunlim’s journey from brokenness to redemption is not just a testimony of God’s healing power but also a vital resource for anyone seeking to understand how God’s grace can meet pain across cultural boundaries. Her Korean identity—shaped by the lingering effects of Korean war, Japanese colonialism, patriarchal expectations, and deep familial trauma—and her dynamic and transformative encounter with Jesus speaks powerfully to issues of belonging, heritage, shame, silence, and healing. This is not just a story to be read; it is a path to be walked alongside her, and like me, you will be greatly blessed and encouraged by sharing in her journey...

I commend Finding My Voice: Trapped in Silence to you with gratitude and admiration. Whether you are a pastoral counsellor, a theological educator, a cross-cultural worker, or simply someone yearning to find your own voice in the midst of the pain you are experiencing, this book will challenge and encourage you."

Behind the Book

How I Wrote My Memoir While Facing Breast Cancer

Not many people know this part of my story: during the discovery of breast cancer, and through the surgery and treatment that followed, I found myself living in suffering yet also experiencing God’s blessing and His presence more vividly than ever before. As I wrote Finding My Voice: Trapped in Silence, I was also learning to live each day in His grace — held by Him in the very midst of pain.

The diagnosis was a shock. Suddenly, the book I had been working on collided with a new chapter of my life that I had never expected. Yet even in the face of surgery and treatment, I was sustained — not by my own strength, but by God’s peace. It was a peace that did not come from within me, but from above: the peace Jesus spoke over His disciples after rising from the tomb, when His first words to them were, “Peace be with you” (John 20:19).

That same peace became my reality. I did not endure sleepless nights filled with fear; instead, I found rest in knowing that my life was in His hands. I discovered that trusting God was my lifeline — His sovereignty, not my control, was what held me secure. Jesus’ promise became alive to me: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

As I wrote, I realised my story was not about surviving what had been, but about allowing God to meet me in the wounds of the past and show His faithfulness in the present.

He reminded me of the truth Job declared: “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised” (Job 1:21). Even in loss, uncertainty, and suffering, His authority and His goodness remain unshaken.

Looking back now, I can see how writing the book and walking through cancer were woven together. Both were journeys of finding my voice — not in my own words, but in the testimony of God’s sovereignty and grace.

Today, I am thankful to say that I am clear. But even more than the relief of that news, I carry with me the assurance that God’s presence is real in the darkest valleys. My prayer is that as you read my story, you will also encounter the God who meets us in suffering, pours out His blessing, and gives us the courage to keep going — one day at a time, in His peace.

In my book, I quoted from Peter Scazzero’s Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. This was a pivotal moment for me in understanding “the journey through the wall” — a stage in our faith where God uses struggle and surrender to deepen our trust and reshape our lives. "Redeeming Power: Understanding Authority and Abuse in the Church" by Diane Langberg

Diane Langberg’s Redeeming Power: Understanding Authority and Abuse in the Church gave me language to understand how power can be misused in Christian settings and how Christ calls us to a different way. Her work points us toward truth, justice, and the redemptive use of authority for healing rather than harm.

"Organic Leadership" by Neil Cole

Neil Cole’s Organic Leadership, which I reference in my book, challenges traditional models of leadership by emphasising growth that is rooted in character, discipleship, and the natural multiplication of leaders.

Also, his book Organic Church explores how true spiritual movements grow naturally—outside of buildings and programs—where life happens. His focus is on sending capacity, not seating capacity, and empowering ordinary believers to reproduce disciples and churches wherever they live, work, and play.
